Bluesil – Premium Silicone Solutions for Aviation Applications
The Bluesil brand was established in 2011 by Elkem Silicones to replace the Rhodorsil brand.
Bluesil brand products are found in many sectors of activity with applications in transport, electricity, electronics, paint, construction, and more generally across the whole range of industrial activities.
The Bluesil brand includes many references developed to satisfy the requirements of the aeronautics and aerospace sectors:
- Bluesil Silicone Remover is a stripper that enables removing cross-linked silicone products from many substrates. It can be used on a variety of surfaces such as wood, plaster, concrete, glass, enamel, metals, and plastics.
- Bluesil V-755 is a medium grade silicone grease, thickened with lithium soap. It is specifically designed as an O-ring lubricant.
- Bluesil Paste 5 is a silicone paste based on polymethylphenylsiloxane oil and inert fillers. It was developed to protect high-voltage insulators and other insulating components in a humid environment or one with conductive dust.
- Bluesil Paste 7 is a silicone paste based on polydimethylsiloxane oil and inert fillers. Its applications include mould release agents, the manufacture of low-pressure laminates in phenolic or polyester resins, and the lubrication of systems containing plastics.
- Bluesil Vacuum GRS is a silicone paste based on polydimethylsiloxane oil and inert fillers intended for lubrication in the aircraft industry. Anti-jamming, assembling seals or elastomer rings, and protecting mobile assemblies are its main areas of application.
- Bluesil Paste 408 is a silicone paste based on polydimethylsiloxane oil and inert fillers. Protecting electrical devices, shielding against moisture and conductive dust, releasing rubber and plastics from moulds, and lubricating small slow-moving mechanisms are its main applications.
- Bluesil Paste 4 is a silicone paste based on polydimethylsiloxane oil and inert fillers. Its formula is especially suitable for protecting and insulating electrical equipment, including in extreme temperature conditions over a useful range from -40°C to +200°C.
- Bluesil GRS 55 is specially formulated with silicone oil and lithium soap to provide a dynamic lubrication between rubber and metal in pneumatic systems.
- Bluesil Paste B 431 is a silicone paste based on polydimethylsiloxane oil and inert fillers. It is designed to meet the needs of static lubrication, electrical insulation at low temperatures, and electrical protection in aggressive atmospheres.
- Bluesil FLD 47 V 1000 are linear chain polydimethylsiloxane fluids. These high viscosity silicone oils feature the following properties: High thermal stability, favourable combustion resistance, sound dielectric properties, low surface tension, high compressibility, non-ageing under the action of atmospheric agents, favourable resistance to oxidation, low freezing point, low variation of viscosity with temperature, and prolonged and intense shear strength.
